Welcome to Bink, our fantastic camper born in 1988.
In 2020 we bought our camper Bink. An old, but super cool camper with double rear axle and a lot of space. Bink was mechanically sound and waterproof. Since 2020 we have had many fantastic holidays with it and we have started renovating it, both the outside and the inside. The outside mainly had to be repainted, we have largely removed the inside to make it more to our liking and to give it a nice fresh polish. So you have to love it, it is obvious that we have renovated it ourselves :)
Because this camper has never let us down, is super comfortable and drives really well in the mountains for its age, we have renamed it Bink. It really deserves this name!
Bink is as new in terms of comfort, but know that he does not have any new 'gadgets'. This means, among other things, that you hear the engine louder while driving than with newer campers and that occasionally some black smoke comes out of the exhaust when it gets a bit heavier (on steep hills). Bink does not have air conditioning while driving, but the windows can be opened and the blowers work well!
The driver rides like a bus driver on a lovely old-fashioned seat with suspension. The front passenger seat is placed higher so you feel like a king or queen when you sit in the front. There are four lap belts in the back.
Bink is a 6-person camper. In the alcove is a comfortable bed from Beter Bed measuring 140x200cm. The seat can also be converted into a 120x200cm bed, on which an 8cm thick topper is placed for comfortable sleeping. In the back of Bink is a bunk bed. Both mattresses are 70x200cm. Our children love these beds because they feel like a hut when you lie in them. Teenagers might find it a bit cramped.
The seat is large enough for 6 people. The passenger seat can be turned and offers the 6th seat.
A new kitchen has been installed with a three-burner (gas) stove. You also have the option of cooking on a two-burner electric stove (especially nice if you want to cook outside because there is also an outdoor socket on the camper). There is a sink that ends in a large gray water tank. Bink has a 75-liter clean water tank. The camper contains enough storage space for food. There is a large absorption refrigerator and freezer. The oven and bread maker are optional. The complete kitchen inventory is included and you also get an orange juicer.
There is also a cooling fan mounted on the roof and a gas heater in the camper for the cold days. There is no boiler installed so there is no hot water available. Of course we do have a kettle and Nespresso coffee maker.
There is enough hanging and storage space for clothes. We also have cabinets above the seating area and large storage compartments under the seating area.
The bathroom has already been renovated. There is a spacious sink with a spacious cupboard above it for storing things. There is a shower, but this may only be used as a place where you can rinse your feet. The boiler makes this possible with nice warm water! The toilet flushes as soon as the camper is supplied with electricity and water.
All windows and roof hatches are equipped with mosquito nets and blackout curtains. On top of the camper is a roof box for extra storage space. There is also a solar panel installed. However, off-grid camping is not saved by this solar panel because the refrigerator requires too much power. If you put the refrigerator on gas, you can camp off-grid. The refrigerator works on 12 volts for a short time, 230 volts and gas. There is room for two bicycles on the back of the camper.
Bink is a 2.5 liter diesel. It drives about 1 in 9. Bink has power steering and drives smoothly. The oil level should be checked every 600 km for safety. If it is a bit too low, add a little oil (it was added to the camper).
When you arrive at your destination, you roll out the awning and secure it with storm protectors. You will receive a tent carpet, 5 chairs, an outdoor table and a clothes rack. The only things you need to bring are your bikes, clothes, toiletries and possibly games and (outdoor) toys.
For a small additional charge you can choose to rent the washing machine (yes, yes!) and oven.
To make your trip as comfortable as possible, we make the beds, you will receive sufficient dishcloths, tea towels, dishwashing supplies, herbs and olive oil, large and small towels, a ready-to-use toilet and a tasty snack.
Please note: In some Dutch and foreign cities you need an environmental sticker. Because Bink dates from 1988, he is not welcome in most environmental zones. You can find more information about this on the ANWB site.
We offer Bink with a day insurance from Goboony. Bink has never let us down, but you never know what the future holds. With this insurance you have access to roadside assistance and replacement transport.
