Kai is our black and white VW Crafter bus camper for 2 people. It was converted into a camper in 2020. Kai is a wonderful camper to go away for longer, partly because the kitchen can be transformed into an outdoor kitchen in no time and there is a lot of space to take everything with you for a long trip. We have set it up in such a way that you only have to load your own personal belongings and then you can drive away immediately. In principle, it contains everything you could possibly need during your holiday!
Fully modular built camper with:
• kitchen unit with sink and 2-burner induction hob, which can be converted into an outdoor kitchen (all kitchen utensils, pans, plates, cups, cutlery, etc. are present) ('induction hob' is not an option to check with the camper's facilities , so we have checked 'gas bottle' and 'gas stove', because otherwise it seems as if there are no cooking facilities in the camper, but with Kai that is an induction hob + large household batteries)
• fridge with freezer compartment
• Nespresso coffee machine
• sockets, USB connections
• swivel front seats
• two stools with storage space
• fixed, rotating table inside
• dimmable LED lighting
• full double bed (140×200)
• duvet, pillows, bed linen, towels, etc.
• sufficient storage space: four upper cabinets, four crates that you can secure to the bottom
• possibilities to transport two mountain bikes under the bed
• chemical toilet (porta potti) and toilet fluid
• camping table with camping chairs for outside
• outdoor shower (no hot water)
• ramp blocks
• blackout screens for the windows
• Fly door/screen door
Other characteristics
• manual transmission, six gears
• reversing camera (which only occasionally falters)
• integrated Apple CarPlay (navigation via your phone)
• solar panel and inverter to be completely off grid
• connection for a power pole at the campsite
• 400 Ah of battery capacity
• 100(!) liter clean water tank
• waste water tank 18 liters (very easy to empty)
Optional
• ceramic heater
• bicycle carrier for two bicycles [at extra cost and free if you also rent our mountain bikes*]
• white license plate
• mountain bike(s) [at extra cost*]
* if you want to use this, please let us know. We will first check availability for you. We then agree with each other how we settle this: it can be done via the deposit or we adjust the price in the system. We charge €5 per day for the bicycle carrier, with a maximum of €50 per booking. The mountain bikes are €10 each per day for short bookings (<8 days) and for longer bookings €7.50 each per day. Mail us if you want more information about the bikes.
You can pick Kai up from us in Streefkerk, where we will explain how everything works while enjoying a cup of coffee. You can leave your own car with us (at your own risk), so that you can immediately go on an adventure without any worries.
Do you have any questions? Then don't hesitate to send us a message!
Is the motorhome not rented out on your pick-up or return day? Then we can also agree other pick-up and return times with you in consultation.
As for visiting festivals: we think it's totally fine (we like it ourselves), but we would like to know (hence "in consultation") so that we can adjust our layout and explanation accordingly. After all, a festival requires something different from an 'ordinary' holiday.
You are not allowed to go into the mountains with Kai, hills are no problem.
Oh, lastly: our insurance requires double identification from our tenants, which means that you need another proof of identity (passport or identity card) in addition to your driver's license.
Greetings,
Esterella and Jackie

PS. we get quite a few questions about Kai and environmental zones, so here's this one: Kai runs on diesel and falls into emission class 4. For France he has an orange environmental sticker ("3") and for Germany a green one ("4"), so you don't have to not to buy anymore. Kai does not yet have a vignette for Switzerland for 2023. Because Kai is originally a passenger car, it falls into vehicle category M1 and many environmental zones do not apply (the one in Antwerp does, by the way). Of course it is good to check this yourself, since the rules differ per country and sometimes even per city in a country. The registration number is K-069-NX, then you can also request the data yourself from the RDW by means of a registration number check.
