This is the van I’d always dreamt of owning. Fitted out and equipped for long adventures or weekend breaks in the great outdoors, it’s also small enough for stress-free navigating around busy cities. Automatic transmission makes its extremely easy to drive while the double bench seat in the front together with the bench seat in the back provide ample space for passengers..
Having been a keen camper-vanner my entire life, I knew exactly what was needed for a comfortable, convenient camper experience. In 2020 I finally had this one professionally converted to my own specifications and I couldn’t be more happy with the result.
The top of the range lift-up roof has a double mattress, a spotlight for reading and huge unzip-able windows for stargazing. Down below, the rear bench seat converts into a second double bed which also has its own reading light.
When it’s time to eat, there’s a gas cooker with two hobs, a fridge with a small freezer section and a sink with an electrically operated tap. Both the front seats can be turned around to face the table and back bench seat. If you prefer to eat outside, the table has four screw-in legs plus there's another small camping table you can take with you. (Camping chairs are provided.) A great range of cooking and dining equipment is provided, as is a lamp for leisurely late evening meals.
As well as a leisure battery, there’s a cable for hooking up to campsite electricity plus a roof-mounted solar panel. The solar panel transforms wild camping into a vastly more pleasurable experience than otherwise. There’s even a hugely effective Webasto blow heater should it prove chilly in the evenings or early mornings.
The well-designed storage includes a huge drawer under the back bench seat, overhead aircraft-style lockers and several sliding-door cabinets. An awning and a sunshade (both of which slide into the van’s Reimo multi-rail) are just two of several available extras.
All the fixtures (ie the lift-up roof, pull-out bed and revolving seats) are incredibly easy to use so you can be set up, ready for your stay, within minutes. This really is the camper for making every get-away dream a reality!
Extras (for which there’s a small charge to cover wear and tear and, in some cases, washing) include a really cool Rocket Stove for cooking outside (when & where permitted) for £15 per hire; up to four sets of bedding (pillows, Duvalay duvets with mattress toppers, sleeping bags, sheets etc) for £10 per set per hire, up to four sets of towels (beach towel, travel shower towel, hand towel) for £5 a set, two vintage mixte (hybrid) bikes with helmets, panniers, lights etc for £25 per bike per hire; Thetford Porta Potti kit (£15 per hire); Dog Kit (bowls, towel, blanket, screw-in dog lead holder etc, muzzles - sometimes required on ferries) £10 per hire.
Finally, please return the camper & its contents as clean as you found them otherwise there will be a cleaning fee of £30. (Obviously, this doesn't include extras such as bedding for which cleaning costs are included in the hire fee.)
