Meet Velma,
She's a treasured old gal who is incredibly reliable and offers that retro campervan experience magic!
You will be joining a lovely community of VW T25 campers — expect plenty of waves on your travels from other T25's :-)
Velma only has seatbelts in the front 2 seats, (though she ‘officially’ sleeps 4 — 2 per bed).
The high-top format means no fussing about with a pop-top when you arrive and is roomy enough to stand up in, even for those who are 6ft+
The engine in these campers are positioned in the back, under the bed, which makes for an unexpectedly roomy interior [front engines on modern vans take up a great deal of space!]. She's surprisingly fuel efficient and had a new engine fitted just 2 years ago. She pootles along comfortably at 60mph, though I have had 70 out of her on a hill ;-)
Dog friendly campervan !
(I have a dog too. NB* whilst the van is fully valeted, if you have pet allergies, be aware :-)
The passenger seat swivels round to face the rear cabin when parked up, and a table can be fitted next to the seat.
Solar panel and leisure battery means you can be off grid for up to 4 days [12volt USB devices only]. The cabin lights work off the leisure battery, so no danger of blackout!
For 240volt devices, there is a 3-pin plug socket that can be used with the electrical hook-up facility [cables provided]
In the back, there is a sofa bench with slot-in dining table. This sofa folds down into the main bed.
Fully fitted kitchen with a powerful gas hob [2 burners] and grill.
There is a sink, which dispenses cold water. TBH, I never use it, preferring to use heated water from campsite wash-up spots, or heat water in the kettle and wash up outside in the collapsible wash bowl provided.
I removed the original fitted fridge as it wasn't very efficient, and provide a more useful portable plug-in fridge box that can be taken out of the van.
A good selection of cooking utensils is provided, as well as a separate gas camping stove [2-burners + grill] for outdoor cooking.
PLENTY of storage above the cab and also in the space provided by the bunk bed.
Bedding is provided for one of the 2 double fold-out bed options [double duvet and 2 pillows + sheet]. The lower bed folds down from the sofa bench and the upper bunkbed can be pulled out or just used as storage space.
