Welcome to our happy place and adventure van. Her name is Fifi :)
Our van is currently undergoing a conversion redesign. We're extending the wardrobe to turn it into a bathroom! Once it's complete it'll be the most comfortable adventure you'll ever have!
This adventure started after we rented a campervan ourselves to go on a road trip around the Scottish highlands and straight away we had the 'bug'. We just knew we had to get one! But finding a used van with some decent miles on the clock, in great condition was very much a challenge. We could've bought a newer fancier van but we're big fans of a sustainable future and keeping a vehicle like this on the road is much greener than just buying a new one so it lives on.
This conversion has been a serious labour of love. It started with some nice ideas for comfortable touches. Then you find a bargain that moves things up a notch, then you really need soft close sliders on those drawers or it just won't feel right, and if you're doing that, you might as well get the larger fridge with the freezer bit. This should give you an idea of what we've been aiming for.
For those who are new to 'van life', the flexibility to rock up almost anywhere and just be home, without setting up the tent or even unfolding the bed (it's fixed in place for ultimate convenience) is just wonderful. There is central heating (with a remote so you can adjust from the bed) as well as filtered hot and cold water on tap. There will be a removable porta-potty in the new bathroom (this is the easiest and cleanest way to deal with it in our opinion). We haven't currently decided if we'll add an inside shower as it can cause damp smells and we have never used it even when we did have one in other vans as the campsite facilities usually have nice and clean showers. There's a twin burner hob and integrated kitchen sink with 3 fully stocked generous-sized drawers for everything a kitchen could need.
The double bed is full-length to give that little bit of extra space as well as an additional single bed on the pullout sofa. There are four large cupboards around the van which results in loads of storage. The garage (under the bed) is massive, don't worry about bringing too much stuff. If it'll go in your boot, it'll easily go in this van!
The van can be run 'off-grid' if the sun's shining due to the solar panel on the roof but both the leisure and van batteries are charged when the engine is running and when you're hooked up at campsites.
The van has been very well maintained and is easy to drive due to its high position and large mirrors.
On collection there's on-street parking for your vehicle and a full tank of diesel will be in the tank (please return it with full tank), so grab some food and you're good to go.
If you would like me to take the van to a campsite and set it up so you can arrive and just enjoy your stay then get in touch and I'll see what I can do. This is a premium service as it involves the diesel cost of the van each way and a return journey to and from the campsite for me as well as the time I spend doing all this.
Collection Time: 3PM
Return Time: 11AM
I'm very flexible due to being self-employed and we can arrange earlier or later collection or return times as long as they're agreed in advance of the rental starting. The above times apply unless the vehicle is booked for specific times through Goboony.
If you have any questions or the dates you need are unavailable then get in touch as we might be able to help. Collection times can be flexible but must be pre-arranged.
