The adventure starts here! If you love the camping vibe, but hate the reality of tents, then a motorhome is perfect. It is luxurious, warm, comfortable, has lots of storage, plenty of sleeping options for families, has all the cutlery/plates/cups for 6 people, bike rack for 4. Pretty much eliminating all the hassle of packing and setting up at a campsite! All you need to put in, is the fuel and your own bedding and then you are ready to hit the road. When you arrive you just fill the water tank and connect your electricity!
Dan and I have been motorhoming for over 12 years with our 3 children. For the kids, even the smell of lighting the gas burner reminds them of their childhood of motorhoming. We have toured both the UK and Europe as a family. We have been on city breaks to Paris, Venice, Freiburg, Budapest - often staying for a fraction of the price at a campsite and hopping on public transport to tour cities. As there are 5 of us in our family so staying in hotels was pretty expensive (still is). We have also toured many different coasts - including France, Italy, Croatia, Slovenia and even done mountain camping in Austria. But lots of our best memories are from winter camping in Wales or Devon. The sound of the rain on the roof usually just meant a hot chocolate and a board game rather than ball games in the summer. The motorhome is spacious enough for families to tour even in the winter! We are happy to help with any questions you might have, but our specialist subject is motorhoming with children :)
This motorhome is quite easy to drive, with a good size engine, also a rear camera and satnav to make the journey easier. But it really stands out because it is great for families with different ages and sleeping arrangements. And the beds are really comfortable and the rear lounge converts to a superking bed! 5 people can easily sit at the dinner table inside (another reason it is ideal off season in the colder months) . Or 6 if you bring an extra camping chair to the table. The rear lounge is great for popping on a movie while the kitchen is used. So the living space is excellent. There are lots of places for storage too and plug sockets and charging points.
The kitchen has a 3 ring hob, an oven and grill, large fridge with freezer, and sink of course, We have kitted the motorhome out with all the pans, cooking trays, utensils, dishes, cutlery and kitchen essentials. So you don’t have to worry about remembering these things. It’s all sorted.
There is a shower room with loo, sink, and a cupboard.
Heating and Hot Water are provided via Gas or Electricity. The 'Master Operating System' is very easy to operate.
On the back is a 4 bike carrier.
The Garage can be reached from either side at the back of the van and so is long enough to store snowboards and skis, paddles for kayaks, kayaks, the BBQ and any other outdoor gear you might like to take away with you.
We have a dog and take ours away in the van, so are happy to consider a small dog only! They will have to travel in a dog cage at the back. They are not allowed on the seats. We take a dog bed and spare towels with us and usually sleep him in a quiet space to the front of the van so we would suggest you follow the same guideline.
We have a secure parking area so you can leave your car with us, however it will be parked at your own risk.
Whether you hire from us or another Gobooney host, we hope you have a great trip and bet you get the motor homing bug like we did!
All we ask is that our motorhome is respected, well cared for and treated with the love it deserves. Please keep it clean and tidy and treat everything like it is your own.
Best Regards
Helen and Dan
Collection and return Info:
When you collect the vehicle we will show you around the Motorhome and explain how it all works, typically the collection process takes about an hour in total. We also provide a manual for the vehicle. On returning the motorhome you should allow up to an hour for handback as we would like to check it back in while you are there.
Please note, there are no facilities at the collection or return point for emptying toilet cassettes, so MUST be emptied prior to return.
Help Videos
We have also recorded some 'How To' videos that explain the operation of various items, we strongly recommend these are watched prior to departure, as they tell you all you need to know about the different systems associated with motorhoming
.
PAYMENT
The booking price includes everything you will need to just pick it up and drive off with the exception of bedding, towels and your food.
What if I cannot get something to work?
Please refer to the help videos and the manual.
Is breakdown cover included?
Yes. We have breakdown cover including roadside assistance and recovery. If recovery is required you will be returned with the vehicle to the normal pick-up location for that vehicle.
Can I take it to Europe?
Yes it can all be taken to countries in the EU.
How many people can travel?
Our motorhome has six Belted seats., this means up to six passengers can be in it legally while driven.
Do you have electric hook up?
Yes, we have electric hook up, leisure batteries and solar panels for charging the leisure battery.
A hook up means there are 240v sockets available in the vehicle and a lead to plug in to campsite electrical point. The internal sockets can be used to power mains voltage appliances such as laptop charge or hairdryer. We also have USB plugs in the vehicles.
Do I need to bring bedding and towels?
Yes, unless you decide to hire it as an extra.
Can I bring my dog ?
Yes, small dogs are very welcome! We make no charge for 1 pet as long as they don’t go on the seats or beds and are not left unattended in the vehicle. Additional cleaning fees apply if the Motorhome is brought back covered in dog hair.
Is there a toilet or shower on-board?
We have a flushing toilet and separate shower area. We provide all required toilet chemicals.
What about my car?
We provide free parking on site for your car (at your own risk).
What are motorhomes like to drive?
Even if you have never driven a motorhome before do not worry you will get used to it very quickly! Our motorhome is easy to drive. Build your confidence by driving steadily, take corners wide and look out for low hanging branches!
How do I park a motorhome?
Due to the size of our motorhomes when parking you need to ensure that you have enough space around you to manoeuvre the vehicle easily. Make use of the well placed mirrors and reversing camera and try to avoid busy areas until you become more proficient. Plan ahead is the best advice!
Supermarket car parks are often ideal as they are large and usually in a convenient location - remember that motorhomes cannot be parked in multi-story car parks as they are often too tall and are generally not allowed to remain in car parks over night.
How much water is on-board?
Our motorhome has an on board water tank which holds around 100 litres of water. This would normally last for up to 3 days with normal use, but please bear in mind that showers use a considerable amount of water, so we would recommend you use onsite caravan park facilities if available.
There is a grey water tank which holds your waste water from the sinks and shower, this is around 100 litres also.
Is there a fuel charge?
No. You pick up the Motorhome with a full tank and you bring it back the same way. There is a charge if we need to refuel it on its return.
What happens if I return late?
Firstly please let us know ASAP as there might be someone waiting to collect it. We reserve the right to charge you for late return at up to £50 per hour but would always try to avoid this. We can sometimes accommodate later returns if there is no immediate subsequent booking, but wouldn’t be able to confirm that until a couple of days before your return.
Children?
Children are welcome in our vehicles - we highly recommend that you show all children how to operate the different fiddly cupboard and drawer catches, as the majority of motorhome damage is by people being too heavy handed.
Do I need to clean the campervan?
We ask that the Motorhome is returned with the inside cleaned including the toilet, shower, oven, fridge etc. The toilet canister should be clean and empty and the grey water empty. Don’t worry about the outside we do all that.
Do I need to stay on a Motorhome Site?
There is no need to as long as you ensure where you park is both safe and legal. We therefore suggest planning your trip in advance and pre-booking at suitable sites.
