Big Blue – LWB Ford Transit campervan

This is a self-converted L3, H2 (long wheel based, mid-height) Ford Transit Campervan that I have worked hard on to convert to a campervan since July 2020!

The van's key features as follows...

Living / sleeping area:

Fixed double bed (no faffing with that rock and roll bed!) with cladded walls
You can sit upright on the bed to read / chill with enough head clearance (unless you're extraordinarily tall)
Double bench seat with storage underneath
Ample garage/storage space beneath the bed
Built-in pigeon-hole wardrobe with clothes rail (length of double bed!)

The van has an auxiliary battery, we have wired in the spotlights in the ceiling and there are 2 x USB ports at the bed and 2 x cigarette sockets in the back also (one for the coolbox). I have a hook up adaptor extension lead to charge anything that requires some 'umph'- the auxillary battery is more for the lights and occasional USB charging. I have recently purchased a Jackery: a portable battery that can charge 3 pin & USB devices such as laptops, phones, cameras, the coolbox etc. Please use this over the leisure battery.

Exterior features:
2 x sky lights that open up, blackout blinds and insect net
Sliding window on the side (tinted) with insect net

Cabin features:
Aircon, three seats, arm rest, Aux and bluetooth compatible CD player, reversing camera.

Removable/optional features:
Porta potty, cool box (cigarette lighter - to use with Jackery if needed or leisure battery when van running), 2 x SUPs: *ON REQUEST* (please, please look after these!), mini table and camping chairs.

Vision with this camper:
I built this camper to access the outdoors: in the colder months I try to escape to the mountains of Snowdonia to camp off-grid when needed, and for coastal trips in the summer to access beaches and the surf.

Pet friendly: pets are part of the family, but please be mindful and clean paws and any mud off your dog before getting into the van.

Fuel: 6-speed DIESEL. Big Blue averages about 32mpg. It is important to calculate the cost of fuel into your holiday. To give you an idea, we recently went to Scotland and to fill the tank from empty cost us £120; around 600 miles range driving sensibly. We will fill the van for you so you're ready to hit the road - we ask that you return it full, otherwise the balance will be taken from your deposit.
