Welcome to our adventure van :)
Look at those chunky tyres - that thing'll go anywhere! Ok, well maybe not, it's only front wheel drive after all but once you go inside it'll be the the most comfortable adventure you'll ever have!
This started out as finding a used Renault Master with some decent miles on the clock, in great condition but feared 'over the hill' by it's previous owner. We could've bought a newer fancier van but we're big fans of a sustainable future and keeping a vehicle like this on the road is much greener than just buying a new one so it lives on. It's had some serious TLC since then of course, by serious TLC we means it's had a full conversion in 2022 and is basically like new!
This conversion has been a serious labour of love. It usually starts out a bit basic with some nice ideas for comfortable touches. Then you find a bargain that moves things up a notch, then you really need soft close sliders on those drawers or it just won't feel right, and if you're doing that, you might as well get the larger fridge with the freezer bit. MDF worktop? It's going to have to be solid oak worktops. This should give you an idea of what we've been aiming for.
For those who are new to 'van life', the flexibility to rock up almost anywhere and just be home, without setting up the tent or even unfolding the bed (it's fixed in place for ultimate convenience) is just wonderful. There is central heating (with a remote so you can adjust from bed) as well as filtered hot and cold water on tap; all of which run of a small but powerful diesel heater so no need to keep an eye on gas supplies. There's a shower and removable portapotty (this is the easiest and cleanest way to deal with it in our opinion, the cassette solution can encounter leaks and smells…). There's a Smev twin burner hob and integrated kitchen sink as well as 4 fully stocked generous sized drawers for everything a kitchen could need, not to mention the solid oak pull out work surface. There's even a portable oven in the garage for pizzas and pies etc.
The double bed is full length and has been widened at one end to give that little bit of extra space. There is a large cupboard above the bed and another one above the bench seat which results in loads of storage. The garage (under the bed) is massive, don't worry about bringing too much stuff. If it'll go in your boot, it'll easily go in this van!
The van has been very well maintained and is easy to drive due to its high position and large mirrors. Being the medium wheel base (MWB), It just about fits in a large parking space, which is handy when doing that essential supermarket shop for all the goodies (don't forget the wine, there's custom storage for 4 bottles)
The van can be run 'off-grid' if the sun's shining due to the solar panel on the roof but both the leisure and van batteries are charged when the engine is running and when you're hooked up at campsites.
Fully comprehensive rental insurance is included (for 1 or 2 people) as well as breakdown cover and there's on street parking for your vehicle so you just need diesel - full tank on collection (and on return please) and food and you're on the way. We have 2 cockapoos so pets are very welcome, we've even installed 'doggy seat belts'. Linen is NOT included as I recommend you bring your own from home as this will make the van feel a lot more comfortable at first.
If you have any questions or the dates you need are unavailable then get in touch as we might be able to help. Collection times can be flexible, but must be pre-arranged.
