With warmer weather and longer days now is the time to hit the road and embark on a new adventure!
"Magical", "Just a dream" and "Hard to believe these landscapes are real" ⛰ are just some of the ways our travellers have described the North Coast 500! 🌿
The best way to travel the NC500 is in a campervan. 🚐 Luna is an automatic California Ocean which sleeps 4 and is available for collection in Aberdeen, Scotland. Find out more below on this VW T6 California Ocean 7 Speed DSG Automatic 4wd we have for hire. 👇
Need other options? We’ve boats leaving to Orkney and Shetland, the North East 250, Cairngorm National Park and the whisky country of Speyside all within close proximity.
Lovely to drive, perfect size for a family trip and coasting around the mountains and glens of Scottland. In the City she has you covered too with Euro 6 engine so low emission zone compliant and an option for a city break in Edinburgh perhaps.
The VW California factory fit has the brilliant sliding rails under the rear bench seat which make a massive difference to the overall journey. Luggage can be stored behind the rear passengers making for a fluid experience and passengers can be in close proximity to one another.
We use a Cali van ourselves as our day vehicle (home van) and have set Luna up with all our travel knowledge with vans over many years. For us the California just stacks up to give a light and airy feel it’s a fab fit out and gives a space configuration that everyone loves.
Rich in features eg Cruise Control, Climatic Zone Heating, Multi Function Steering Wheel, Digital Cockpit, Driver Alert System, Airbags, Parking Sensors, Reversing Camera, Electric Windows, Tinted Rear Windows, Auxiliary Diesel Heater for cool nights, Privacy Blinds and a fully equipped kitchen the van is ready to go.
The van has an optional tow bar and is fitted with roof rails should a surf board be part of your plans (note tow is not part of insurance cover though). We love coffee so have added some unique touches in that respect also.
The Touch Screen headset has Apps Connect and a DAB Radio meaning you can play your tunes as you go (very important!). Please also ask us for tunes should you wish a Spotify playlist.
The Hydraulic Roof raises at the press of a button for the upstairs bed and provides a full height living area. Spin the front two captain seats around and you have a snug space to relax and enjoy family / friend time together.
The auxiliary heater runs off of a Diesel tank so can be used when parked up. When it is sunny a carefully stored table and 2 chairs are fitted within the van for your convenience for outdoor use. The signature California awning also provides a means of shade and shelter if required.
The T6 California Ocean comfortably sleeps two adults and two children. Simply pull forward the bench seat, fold down the seat back and set out your bedding for a perfect nights sleep.
The privacy blinds on all the windows slide easily into place and a thermal cover is provided for the front 3 screens for additional warmth and black out.
For bedding we provide luxury mattress toppers with cover sheets (linens) for both the downstairs and upstairs bed as standard. We can also provide extras luxury bedding, towels at an add on charge of £20 per bed if required.
A two ring gas hob, tap and sink, 42 litre fridge, cupboards and pull out table are integrated into the space. We love the California for its design simplicity everything considered in a smart and efficient way to truly make it a home from home.
As mentioned we have equipped the kitchen with all the key things you might need. We provide a gas bottle for the interior cooker and a spare to ensure you are well equipped.
You may also hire a Cobb Oven from us should you wish to bbq outside, the oven can even heat a pizza or roast a chicken which really gives a massive amount of versatility (beach side cook etc!).
We will fill the water tank with fresh tap water before your hire on request please just ask if desired.
The Cabin is lit by multiple LED lights, with USB charging points, a 12v socket to charge laptops and battery packs and a 230v socket for when you are hooked to campsite electricity. The van comes with a full 25m length hook-up cable so you can power up no matter how far the charge points are.
Additionally we have high range iRocker SUP boards for a hire fee should this be desired. We have beautiful lochs nearby so this is a popular choice (£40/SUP incl life jackets).
With mountains, coast, castles, whisky trails and the NE250 and NC 500 all in close vicinity this lovely California 4wd van is popular.
Note we are in close proximity to the city centre of Aberdeen in a residential area. There is free nearby street parking around us and we are located around a 20 minute drive from the airport and a 20 minute walk to the bus, train and ferry terminals.
We are happy to help provide guests suggestions and we pride ourselves on giving a great service.

It is at clients risk should damage occur to the vehicle so we recommend awnings are in during night time and when not present in the vehicle.
The client needs to consider the potential impact of the weather on awning and pop top (wind and rain!).
Where possible ensure a sheltered location and point van rear towards prevailing wind direction will always help to minimise risk.
Ensure pop top is down when driving and slowly lower roof to check bellows collapse inwards during the lowering process noting that it can otherwise snag which is readily avoidable (we are happy to demonstrate).
Tyre blow out is a risk with some bumpy roads potholes etc and it is the client’s responsibility to ensure sensible speeds are observed and is the reason we ask for sense on driving and no off road conditions.
Above all any questions, concerns or queries please ask we are here to help and ensure your holiday is as smooth and relaxing an experience as we can make it.
We ask bookings just to fully read our description and confirm that they are happy and understand above at the time of booking and for any concerns or questions to be flagged.
