The VW California factory fit has the brilliant sliding rails under the rear bench seat which make a massive difference to the overall journey. Luggage can be stored behind the rear passengers making for a fluid experience and passengers can be in close proximity to one another.
From many years of experience with the California and our knowledge of Scotland we aim to provide assistance at all stages of the journey. For us the California just stacks up to give a light and airy feel it’s a fab fit out and gives a space configuration that everyone loves.
Rich in features eg Cruise Control, Climatic Zone Heating, Multi Function Steering Wheel, Digital Cockpit, Airbags, Parking Sensors, Electric Windows, Tinted Rear Windows, Auxiliary Diesel Heater for cool nights, Privacy Blinds and a fully equipped kitchen the van is ready to go.
The Touch Screen headset has Apps Connect and a DAB Radio meaning you can play your tunes as you go. Please also ask us for tunes should you wish a Spotify playlist.
The Hydraulic Roof raises at the press of a button for the upstairs bed and provides a full height living area. Spin the front two captain seats around and you have a snug space to relax and enjoy family / friend time together.
The auxiliary heater runs off of a Diesel tank so can be used when parked up. When it is sunny a carefully stored table and 2 chairs are fitted within the van for your convenience for outdoor use. The signature California awning also provides a means of shade and shelter if required.
The T5 California comfortably sleeps two adults and two children. Simply pull forward the bench seat, fold down the seat back and set out your bedding for a perfect nights sleep.
The privacy blinds on all the windows slide easily into place and a thermal cover is provided for the front 3 screens for additional warmth and black out.
For bedding we provide luxury mattress toppers with cover sheets (linens) for the downstairs bed as standard. We can also provide extra bedding, towels at a small add on fee if required.
A two ring gas hob, tap and sink, 42 litre fridge, cupboards and pull out table are integrated into the space. We love the California for its design simplicity everything considered in a smart and efficient way to truly make it a home from home.
As mentioned we have equipped the kitchen with all the key things you might need. We provide a gas bottle for the interior cooker and a spare to ensure you are well equipped.
We have extra options subject to availability including SUPs and an Outdoor Cobb BBQ set which is super versatile for cooking.
We will fill the water tank with fresh tap water before your hire on request please just ask if desired.

Additionally we have high range iRocker SUP boards for a hire fee should this be desired. We have beautiful lochs nearby so this is a popular choice (subject to availability).
With mountains, coast, castles, whisky trails and the NE250 and NC 500 all in close vicinity this lovely California van is very popular.

It is at clients risk should damage occur to the vehicle so we recommend awnings are in during night time and when not present in the vehicle.
The client needs to consider the potential impact of the weather on awning and pop top (wind and rain!).
Where possible ensure a sheltered location and point van rear towards prevailing wind direction will always help to minimise risk.
Ensure pop top is down when driving and slowly lower roof to check bellows collapse inwards during the lowering process noting that it can otherwise snag which is readily avoidable (we are happy to demonstrate).
Tyre blow out is a risk with some bumpy roads potholes etc and it is the client’s responsibility to ensure sensible speeds are observed and is the reason we ask for sense on driving and no off road conditions.
