Response from Jane
I am so sorry Manja you felt this way. It was myself who inspected the van regarding the bumper and decided to return your deposit in full as I could not be sure which hirer had caused this damage. I could perhaps have communicated this clearly with you so forgive me for that.
It was indeed unfortunate that within a few minutes of arriving at the van your son went to the back of the van on his own and unscrewed the table which caused the table to fall down which loosened the arm which keeps the table in place. This did not inspire confidence and I thought it fair to fine £10 for this as it takes time and money to fix broken hinges.
I advice all my hirers to avoid the awning as it is very fragile in high winds.
No-one in my life has described me as you have done. I am a professional and friendly person and am kind. I am however fair when it comes to damage to my van, which is kept in a very clean and well maintained way, and I will express my dissatisfaction if anyone damages the van or returns it in a way which goes against the rental agreement.
I wish you and your son well. Kind regards.
